Default Denon AVR-3805 with Bose Acoustimass AM-5 and another subwoofer hookups

What is the best way to hook up a Denon AVR-3805 with Bose Acoustimass
AM-5 and another powered subwoofer? I think the speakers need to be set
to Large to allow the Bose to split the signal between its satellites
and subwoofer, but wouldn't this prevent a signal from going to another
powered sub hooked up?

Best thing to do is trash the Bose and start over.

Don't trash the trash. Sell it on ebay. You'll generate enough money
for some serious speakers.

www.craigslist.org works if you have a local area listing. Everything I
have ever put on there has gone in a day, with the buyer picking it up. No
posting fees either.

Another possibility is to use the AM-5's as rears. I pressed my AM-5's into
service as rears, after they had spend years on the shelf. I have a small
room, with couches against the back wall and no room to place speakers
behind the seating position. The small cube speakers work nicely to disperse
the rear sound, and the woofer adds just a little bit of rear bass (not
much, but I can hear just a little and it enhances the sound).

Well, the Bose "sub" (actually it's really just a woofer, it doesn't go deep
enough to be considered a subwoofer) doesn't go very low at all. I'd
probably use "small" on the fronts, and let the true sub take over the bass
duties. The Bose won't go much below 40-50 hz at best, and falls off
sharply. And you don't really want to crossover at an area where the mains
might be losing output, it's better to crossover at 80 Hz say than 40 Hz if
the mains don't go much below 40 Hz. This allows more overlap and usually
results in a smoother transition.

Of course, you can try it both ways and see which actually sounds better.
But I'd bet on the small being the way to go.
