Onkyo DV-SP 502

Hi,

I am planning to buy Onkyo DV-SP 502 universal player.
I could find little review on the web sites.
Does anyone know if this plays SACD in full resolution or down concerts
the signal to PCM?
Also, how good is this as a CD player?
The Video department looks good in the specs.

If it touts itself as a "universal" player that usually (but not always)
means that it will play the signal in full rez.
You might want to check out a Samsung 841

Hi,
Thanks for pointing me to the Samsung player. It looks interesting.
Specially the critical DVI interface missing from the Onkyo.

The D/A converters on Onkyo appear to be better:

Samsung Onkyo
------- -------
Video D/A: 10 bit, 27 MHz 12 bit, 108 MHz
Audio D/A: 24 bit, 96 kHz 24 bit, 192 kHz
