Canadian, seems really steep considering that X10 is about $20 at Radio
Shack.
Is there something that make Levitron $$$

Home depot's pricing is almost never the best.
Sadly in Canada, you won't find decent pricing on most HA components due to
the fact that there is only a minuscule market.
But you might be able to order through an electrical wholesaler for a cash
price.
Look in your phone book for "Nedco" or "Westburne" under electrical
wholesalers.
Of course these two are not the only ones but I just know THOSE companies
have offices in most Canadian cities.
Other than that many US companies have online ordering, and prices are a lot
better.
While "X10" is MUCH cheaper in price, the quality is cheap too.
But for many, it's good enough, and most people end up mixing several
different manufacturers components in their applications.
But if you have the extra to spend, leviton, switchlink, and a few other
"premium" components are a good investment.
