Do you know the firmware rev in the panel?

I have (or did have, I'll have to have a look) a few versions, beginning with Jeaves and upgrading to Minder.

I assume to find the firmware vers you would have to look at the PCB to see what's written on it!

The minder was installed Feb 1997 & has the 5222 daughter board attached on top of it.

Yeah, It's written on the firmware chip.

on the Minder MK1 main board the chip has a green sticker with 00-2-2-22 & on the 5222 daughter board on the back the chips, also have green stickers with 5222 0.1 & PC INT 2.00d

The 00 means it is the main controller firmware (as opposed to the telephone interface)

The rest is the version.

I have chips on the shelf for 2.1.2 so there must be something later than that in the actual controller, but I'll have to pull it apart to check, so it will take a day or so.

BTW how serious are you about getting this unit going? I can duplicate the firmware chips and give you the software for the latest version I have, but only if you really want to make it work. I don't want to do all the work if you don't really care either way.

I only have 2 options either get this minder going or upgrade it to a 5500paca controller which will cost approx $300-$400

Yes I found the software for this version (I don't use my MK1 anymore as I have 3 Mk2's)

I can wrap it up for you and you can try it on your controller, it will probably work, but I have never tried it.

I'll try and do that tonight.

Another option might be for you to PM "chrism" on this forum.
He has a long history with this product and has been very helpful to me in the past. Last I heard he had gone back to work for Clipsal, but I haven't seen him here for a while.

ok no worries, I'll see if I can find "chism" as well.

I tried a full reset, turned the power off & unplugged the 12v backup battery to minder - still no better. Also unplugged the power to the cbus relays - made no difference!
At one stage the 5031n key was flashing, touched it went off then touched & it came back on.

Your probably going to have to change the "coin" battery on the main board, as it will almost certinly be flat.
