Has any one got the thinkbox software working on windows 2008 ??

installes OK but when you run it it just goes to 100% CPU on one core of the processor.

Tried running compatibility for XP but does not run either.

any ideas ??

Hi Charlie,

I have been successfully running Thinkboxx 4.0.6 on an XP machine. About a month ago I upgraded my PC & it came with Vista, since then I have been doing battle trying to get it working, with limited success.

On the Vista PC, the Thinkboxx software can display the bitmap home plan & connects to the Thinkboxx hardware, seeing when the various lights are turned on or when I pass in front of a motion sensor, but it simply will not action a scenario when I press a button which has been programmed to run a scene.

I turned logging on for a switch I have programmed for the KITCHEN lights (2 light scene) & in the history log can see that I have turned the switch on & then off again, but Tb refuses to switch on the 2 sets of lights. Any switch that simply drives a light directly works fine, it is only the switches & lights associated with scenarios that I cannot get working even though I can toggle those individual lights on/off from the bitmap. When I swap the cable back to the XP PC it all works fine.

Besides the following being re-installed / copied from the old PC is there anything else I should need?
• C-Bus Installation Software v2.7.10 installed
• Thinkboxx Software v4.0.6 installed
• Folder containing the HALL Project data, copied to the PROJECTS folder of the C-Bus Installation Software

Rather than keeping the old XP clunker, I am considering buying an ASUS or Acer 8.9” Laptop running XP & dedicating that to the home automation cause, but I don’t want to be in the same situation of still not being able to get it running if I have missed copying something across.

Thanks,
Stephen

I have just upgraded my PC to Vista and the thinkbox software appears to work ok.

I don't know what you meanby this comment

"but it simply will not action a scenario when I press a button which has been programmed to run a scene."
