hi guy got some clipsal Saturn 240volt range switches to install in a house
now pretty straight forward i know. question i have is how can you make the LED work when switch is on. with out having a neutral line down to the switch
as most light switches dont have a neutral.
and house can not be retro fitted as roof space is not accessable.
i have heard this is possible but yet to hear how.
Regards
tim

hey mate I realized why would i even want the light to work that way haha
I have all my switches set to led on when light is off. which makes sense since at night you can see where the switch is . when the lights are on you cant see the led very well anyway.
So just wire them up as normal mate they look great at night when lights are off.

Thanks for the feedback, I was told you could have the LED on when switch was on without needing a neutral wire, but makes a lot more sense to have them on when switch is off.
Do you still need a neutral to do this, I have no way of retro fitting one, so need to just work with standard active & switch wire.
Cheers

sorry to resurrect old thread.... so, how does the LED work without a neutral line?
All the wiring instructions show a neutral, so would love to know how you managed it.
(NB- the circuit is a two way switch, if this matters)

Just connect the led wires into the same pots as the active and line back to light., when the light is off, it will gain its nutrual through that wire from light.
Works great. but with out nutural you can only have led on when light is off, which is the only logical way you would want them anyway lol.

Legend, thanks!
Works as you said, only issue i have now is that the circuit is three way (two switches at either end of room control same lights), so if you use the "other" switch, the LED on/off doesnt work.
Apparently there is a way around this....havent worked it out yet....

There might be a way around it if you have the nutural.
though i have two lights in the same situation I just tend to keep the led at the most used end on, and not worry about the other end.
