View Full Version : must keep monitor on the hear cable music?
Just set up my home theater. Surprisingly I cannot keep the cable music on
without keeping the TV monitor turned on.
Any way to avoid keeping the monitor on?

Run audio from your cable box to your amp/receiver instead of going
through your tv?

the cable box attaches directly to the receiver via an hdmi line. Any other
ideas?

Does the cable box also have analog audio outputs? You could run that into a
spare input.

I've used 2 units this way so far and both worked with the
monitor on or off. However, they both muted the audio
briefly when switched on or off. The audio returned in 5-10
seconds. Also, check on your setup menus to see whether
the receiver is set as a relay (or similar).
