air conditioner open windows!

I need a simple way that if someone leaves a window open or goes thru a
door the air conditioner switches off. It needs to have a delay to
allow for short time open/close. The air conditioner controller is a 24
volt system.

Just what you want to do is short cycle the compressor. That will drive you
to your local repair man faster than normal.

Put local battery powered alarms on the windows. When open they go off
Put self closing hinges on the doors. When set correctly the doors will
close and latch.
Garage doors and metal doors may require 2 self closing hinges to make the
heavy door close.
