View Full Version : HDMI
Greetings All,
I am starting to hook up a Denon 3808CI to Klipsch Reference speakers. Is
there a real advantage to bi-wiring? At first I thought they were referring
to bi-amping, but after reading further I realized I can't bi-amp. It seems
that bi-wiring is just like adding a second set of speaker wires,
effectively making the wires a thicker gauge (therefore less resistance in
theory).
Also, when hooking up HD components, my 2 options are HDMI alone, and HDMI
in conjunction with the optical audio. Is there a reason to use the optical
audio along with the HDMI? Many thanks in advance, Mark

I forgot to add that I have a couple of unused power amps laying aound (a
Carver and a Hafler) and was wondering if I could/should add these to the
system... Thanks again, still Mark

And equally effective.

Not if you can process the HDMI audio in your receiver.

HDMI is digital audio video in one wire. Don't overpay for the cable.
