I have an Optoma pj connected to a Samsung HD841 DVD player. It is a DVI
connection. I get a multicolor porridge on the screen. Any ideas?
Thanks,

1. DVI cables should not be longer than 1 metre, is this the case?
2. Have you checked whether the DVI output on the DVD player needs to be
switched on?
3. If all the above fails hire/borrow another DVI DVD player (or take the PJ
back to the store), you'll need to test the PJ with another DVI player to
test whether it is the PJ or the DVD player at fault.

You have to hook up the Samsung to a Composite (or component) first (with
the DVI hooked up too) and then apply the DVI connection and then switch to
DVI. It should work.
