Anyone know the release dates of any of the HDMI 1.3 receivers by Onkyo, HK,
Yamaha, or Denon?

I am really looking forward to getting one for my main home theater.

Thanks...

Many should be hitting the market this year.
Plus receivers with Dolby TrueHD & DTS-HD Master Audio processing.
I can't wait!!! Well I can but ya know what I mean! LOL,

Ric,

What are you using for receivers now? I've got the Onkyo 703 in my main HT
and the HK 240 in the playroom and really love both of them but I have to
have the new audio decoders for my BD and HD DVD players. I would really
like to see the ability of one of HD Disc players to play SACD and DVD Audio
over HDMI. How do you like the new HD Discs?

I don't quite understand this delay of releasing receivers with built in
TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding. You'd think the industry would have planned the
release of such receivers to coincide with the release of HD-DVD and
Blu-ray. So many early adopters out there willing to shell out for whole
new receivers just to get the decoding of these new codecs...

What exactly is the delay?

This is just a guess, but I think there just isn't enough demand. yet.

These new audio formats are only available on HD-DVD and BRD and many
early adopters (like myself) are refusing to buy either HD format until
the HD war is over, and there is only one left. So, I don't believe that
there are enough numbers of early adopters buying into HD to warrant the
release of new A/V receivers, at this time.

Right now I'm living without.....
Hurricane Ivan took my Rotel Receiver and the rest of my system.
Finally got into a new home and now playing the waiting game
for the minimum specs I am willing to accept. Insurance settlement
still collecting interest in the bank.

Display: Must have HDMI/1080p & 1920x1080

Receiver: Must have HDMI transcoding & upscailing passing 1080p,
the new HD Dolby & DTS Audio CODECS plus wouldn't mind an Audyssey
Chip for EQ and setup.

Speakers: Really eyeing the B&W 600 Series, and SVS is about to release
there
second and third versions of their speakers & subs. Will take a serious
look at them also.

Hi Def DVD: I am partial to BluRay for several reasons but will probably
try to go with
a combo player. But it must have the new HD Audio CODECS, 1080p and HDMI.

Sooo, right now I can get my display specs. Waiting for the receiver
with the new CODECS,
HDMI Transcoding & upscailing, REALLLY hoping for ARCAM (first choice)
to step up, or
wait for ROTEL. And waiting for a HD Combo Player w/New CODECS.

I'd guess waiting for HDMI 1.3 to be field tested.
