View Full Version : Panasonic TH-50PX60U ?

I am all set to buy the Panasonic TH-50PX60U. The only thing that was
bothering me about this was the possibility (however remote) of burn-in. If
I set my TV picture mode to standard, picture to +22, brightness to +8,
color to -1, tint to -4, sharpness to -14, color temperature to warm and
enhanced black level to off(the recommended settings for this TV) and I
never watched anything in 4:3 mode and was careful to not watch constant
DVDs with widescreen bars, should I be able to avoid burn-in? Would these
settings be ok to use right from the beggining? Is it ok to watch DVDs with
the bars from the start? I have gotten mixed advice about "breaking in" a
plasma. Some say 100 hours, some say 1000 hours!?!?@%^&*! I know there are
threads galore about this but if anyone with this TV or any Plasma owner
that knows could answer these questions, I would appreciate it.
Thanks again.

I have this Panasonic model and have not yet seen any burn in after 10
months of daily use. I don't worry about resolution bars or burn-in,
although not saying it doesn't happen.

Usually "full." Zoom cuts off some of the picture and "Just" can
distort pictures. I watch very little TV (<2 hrs per week), mostly
DVDs.
