Just something for thought.
If you are going to use large speakers in front, at least 1 Onkyo
discussed here won't allow you to set the fronts to large and still
be able to use a subwoofer from the LFE output.
If you fall into this category, I'd check if that model of Onkyo
will allow Large fronts w/sub.
If you are going to use small speakers in front then this is a non-issue
for ya.
.....as long as you are never gonna upgrade to large front speakers.

I recently purchased and installed the system you are inquiring about.
As with most htib's the speakers are the only weak link and they
actually do not sound that bad. This unit is being used as a second
system in my basement gameroom area. The system itself sounds quite
nice to me.The only upgrades that I made was to replace the speaker
wires that they supplied with 16 guage wire and I added a different
cable for the subwoofer. I can't tell you about the large/small front
speaker w/subwoofer "problem" that this amp may have as I am using the
supplied speakers. Crutchfield had this on sale in December and I found
that prices very greatly on it's actual cost. Crutchfield won out due
to free shipping. The amp itself seems to have as many features as my
main unit (Marantz 7300 OSE) that is a few years old plus the ability
to hook up an XM radio unit to it. The remote for it is capable of
operating my cable,tv,and dvd unit also. Not to bad of a system for for
it's price.
I use to own an onky ht-s570. My experience with it pretty much relates to
all onkyo htib. Onkyo makes great receivers, but their speakers are really
not that hot. I ended up keeping the receiver and sub (pretty good sub
suprisingly) but changed the speakers. The speakers had 3" drivers but
sounded very poor. A friends panasonic scht-920S which also has 3" drivers
with plastic satellite speakers (vs. the onkyo's mdf speakers) sounded
significantly better. At the time, I ended up listening to other onkyo
systems and none of them were that great. I had received the hs-s570 as a
gift, so I had no choice but to keep it for a while.

I will also add that the amp puts out a load of heat and should be not
be used in an enclosed space. I had to partially remove the back panel
of my entertainment cabinet to allow for better airflow.(much to the
delight of my cats who now fight for the top of the cabinet for the
warmest spot). I'm probably going to replace the speakers at some point
but as the other poster said the subwoofer actually seems rather
capable of supporting it's share of the load and is quite room rattling.
