Hi

I have a marantz 7200 and can not get any audio out of the rear, center
and sub speakers. They are all selected to be on in the setup menu but
arent showing up on the front display panel on the receiver. They all
respond to the tone test in the setup menu but no audio from any
source, tuner, dvd,cd or any other input. Changing the surround mode
doesnt change anything.

Any ideas?

Have you tried resetting the amp? Switch the amp off at the power switch,
then keep the 'select' + 'att' button pressed at the same time that you
switch the amp back on. If done correctly the display window should show an
'amp reset' display and you should hear a big 'click' relay sound..

This will reset all your inputs, output and surround settings, so make sure
you write them all down before hand and reapply them.

You might have it set to DIRECT.

I can hear the click of the relays when selecting each speaker on or
off in the setup menu.
The only 'att' button is on the remote control displayed in the lcd
window. There is no 'select' button labelled as such.
I have the same problem whether the source is set to direct or not.

Those were instructions for my SR7300 model, I assumed they might be the
same for your SR7200. From the manual of the SR7200:

GENERAL MALFUNCTION
If the equipment malfunctions, this may be because an electrostatic
discharge or AC line interference has corrupted the information in the
equipment memory circuits. Therefore:
- disconnect the plug from the AC line supply
- after waiting at least three minutes, reconnect the plug to the AC line
supply
- re-attempt to operate the equipment.

cheers and a happy '07

I have a 4600 and this process has been used at least twice since i
owned this unit, and it works perfectly. I also note that Sony's
DirecTV receiver can get into a similar state and if you call DirecTV
they walk you thru EXACTLY the SAME process.
