need help with setup

we just tried to set up our Audiologic (christmas gift) home theater system.
our DVD/VCR combo just died so we pulled out this one that we were going to
return. the manual for setting it up is worthless. the diagram doesn't
include how to include satellite. any helpful hints is greatly appreciated.
I have a regular Direct TV satellite box and RCA 36" tv made in 1999.

You could look around online for manuals, but it might make more sense
for you to get a knowledgable friend or tech into your home to look
over all your gear and help you connect it properly.

Somebody could also help you find and program a universal remote
control that would automatically turn your gear on and off and make
everything work a lot easier and simpler for you.
