Hi,
I have a Sanyo air conditioning system in a 100 people cinema theater.
I have a very serious problem in the cinema, the air conditioner simply
won't
stop producing cold(the temperature sensor who comes with equipment is
inefficient
for the overal theater arquitecture there are some people who get more cold
than others).
I need to measure the temperature in the cinema prefably in at least two
spots(using a
computer with sensors?) and based on the programming(any language will do)
and
the computer equipped with some relays would shut down and switch on/off the
air
conditioner.
I need help. Can somebody send information on companies that have this
type
of equipment avaible(off the shelf)e temperature sensor that have to stay
far away
from the computer( some equipment that doesn't need calibration of
temperature
sensors?).
Because some members of the public are always complaining of an
agressive
air conditioner in their area in the theater - if i could micromanage
temperature changes
in the room using a set of computer encoded rules for control).
Any help Would be welcome.

Thank You.

Alex.

Look into home automation gear

The main one in the UK is "simply automate" (not sure where you are im
asuming not UK) if you not in the UK im sure theres an equivlient
system where you are

the stuff from there sends signals around your mains cables and can be
controled by remote of from a computer, anyway with this style system
you wou create a link bewteen the computer and the air con power supply
so that the computer would simply cut the power

not sure if home automation has temperature sensors but this would give
a remote with a deffinate off, should you find that you can get a
temperature sensor then you should ptentialy be able to put it anywhere
in the building, as i said this kit send equipment through the main's
wiring and so anything plugged into ti can potentialy be controled

You can also rig lights and other appliances into the system so that it
all runs smoothly from one remote or computer

anyways i think iv doneenough here to try and sell someones else's
stuff, hope this is helpful, and ill be interested to see other peoples
ideas

thats the simply automate site, look through the demonstration and you
should get a better understanding of what i meant from there

X10 based thermostats have remote sensing capability and X10 control
hardware/software is available to run on PC.

www.smarthome.com carries much of what you need. But without pipes to
route the conditioned air to various points in the theater, you may sill
have problems with some areas cold, others too warm. Electrically
operated Dampers in the pipes would then limit air flow to cold areas.
