View Full Version : rear speaker placement

In a 5.1 system, is there an "optimum" speaker placement for the rear
speakers? Is it the same height as the front speakers? Would it be above
where people are sitting? I'm just trying to figure out the best placement.
I may have to mount on the wall and point down a little since floor space is
an issue because of room dimensions. Anyway, I guess I'm open to
suggestions....since I know people have placed then pretty much all over the
place. Up, down, behind, low to the ground, etc....

They need to be mounted higher up than the fronts.
Alot of problems with the distance from the listener is the level control.
If your levels are properly set it wont matter that much where in the back
they are as long as they're in the back
