first off I would go into the set up menu and select "audio" option and see
if a differant selection of output will change the volume.....I know Dolby
Digital if selected as output and running into tv will result in real low
volume....

Hello all,

I am a newbie and need an answer to a problem that has been plaging me for a
month now, here goes:

I have several tv's and the volume has gone down on all since a satellite
dish
install. One channel in particular I can barely hear the programs!

I went to an electronics store and the salesman told me not to buy a
reciever and speakers, but to contact the installers and see if it is the
length of wire, quality of splitter, or if I maybe needed an additional
reciever connected to the TV2 to get better sound. When I called the
installer, they told me that the only volume is from the TV and the dish
reciever only transmits picture.
I am getting different messages from different people and am confused.
Please help!

I did connect the tv to a stereo I have, and the sound was a little louder,

but not anywhere near as loud as when I hit the stereo button, it nearly

knocked me out the house! But the TV was just a little bit louder.

My tv (with the least amount of sound) has 1.2 watt speakers and my stereo
has 30 watt speakers.

I have one reciever, a TV2 setup and a mirror image on the third tv. Any
suggestions?

One other question:
I am considering getting a sony HT-DDW660 for the living room. I want to be
able to hear the sound in the kitchen area (talking on the tv) while I am
washing
dishes, et. My living room is 16x20 ft. My kitchen is 12x20 ft. I am
wondering
if the 70 watt speakers will give me good-louder dialoge sound from the tv
when I am in the
kitchen, washing dishes, if I get this sound system. Any opinions?

Mindy,

Thanks. I tried this, to no avail. Since I posted, I have payed even
closer attention to the sound. I notice that some channels are higher than
others.

With that said, I am trying to find out if the home theatre will make the
sound louder (esp. dialogue) if I purchase this.

All replies appreciated.

God bless,
KJ
