I once rolled a piece of paper into a cone, stuck a pin through the end, and
made my own Victrola. Lasted until my parents caught me trying it out on one
of their albums. But with proprietary digital formats used today, I wouldn't
even know where to begin to look for information on decoding it all. So I
made my own wall unit instead. It helped to have a couple of nephews who
went to vo-tech for cabinetry. I had a Sauders unit once, my homebuilt is
much nicer.
