I'm assuming you just have cable TV without a decoder box or anything?
If that's the case, the easiest thing to do would probably be to buy a VCR
to give you some audio outputs.

Well, you could ofcourse buy a VCR or HDD recorder and use there outputs but
a much cheaper option would be to buy a scart cable with 2 audio out tulip
connectors. you can get them in any decent audio shop (at least in the
Netherlands)

What inputs does the Sony HT have? Is it a HT in a box with at least a
line level stereo input?
If you aren't prepared to open up the TV, find the speaker wiring and do
some wire cutting and/or soldering and maybe building some sort of
attenuation circuit, then your best bet is to get Hi-Fi VCR, even a used
one, and use the tuner and audio outs from that, or get a new TV that has
the right outputs. If you have cable, you could look into a cable box
with audio outs.
Personally, I'd get a new TV or a VCR.
