If you use b speakers or a "zone 2" digfital signals wont work. Are you sure
you're not using one of these?
Another thing is that your a speakers have to be off sometimes in order for
your pre-outs to work.
In other words your preamp wont run the amps in your receiver and an
external amp at the same time.
Lots of good wholesome reasons for this
Go in your menu and turn your a speakers off, or use the button on ther
front if it has one
