But they dont sell them over here.
Price doesnt matter, its a matter of prestige, and japs are the most ego
driven of businessmen. Sony ran the betamax into the ground and spent tons
of yen on it after it had been DOA for years.
If the japanese could make a speaker that sounded better than fingers on a
chalkboard it would be over here, but its not over here because like santa
clause, the easter bunny, and man-liking lesbians, THEY DONT EXIST

No they dont, but Denon, an english company, outsources to some far east
rice paddy like everybody else

Yeah yeah, right. The Japanese are businesslike in the extreme, they are not
going to market something at a loss for ego. And there are numerous ultra-fi
Japanese speakers for sale over here, but then, you'd have to have enough
knowledge to go somewhere other than circuit shitty for your gear. I've had
the pleasure of spending a lot of time listening to a paif of rear-horn
loaded Fostex's driven by an Ongaku amp, and good Japanese speakers
definitely DO exist. But they are not going to bring their mid-fi stuff over
here, not enough profit.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! You are an idiot of truly monumental proportions! After
numerous people have told you Denon is Japanese, and pointed you to links
that prove it, you still insist on being the pigheaded twit you are and
insist that Denon is English. Because you read it in a magazine somewhere
that you can't even remember what issue it was in! Get a clue! Why should
anyone respect your opinions when you are obviously so stupid!?!

Yeah, right. BTW, ever heard an Ongaku? You really are an asswipe. Or have
you even ever heard Lecson, or a Quad amp? Naim?
But you've heard a DENON English amp, right? BWAHAHAHAHA!

Ah, now we get it. You know nothing about my system, but you're already into
the "Mine is bigger" mode. Your latent homoerotic tendencies are coming out,
you whip it out at any excuse don't you. "Mine is better, says me, so I have
better taste and am a better person than you" says Steveo99. Hint, my
speakers are active, if you even know what that is, take a look. The
cheapest active speakers cost more than your whole system. Not that says
anything relevant, most mature people know that, but you seem to have a
fascination with price as opposed to knowledge.

This is truly the resort of an idiot,

Yup, I have to have an Emerson. Twit. You are almost as big an asshole as
our resident Bose lover. Vaporware, very very witty. Just because you feed
at the bottom of the hifi market and only know of what you read about in
mid-fi mags doesn't mean better things don't exist.

You really should learn not to badmouth your betters.

I wasnt badmouthing my betters, I was badmouthing a dumbass who has amps
built into his speakers, which means that when they break hes out of BOTH.
You pompous twit, dont you think there are good reasons as to WHY most of
the audio industry has rejected "active " speakers?
And arent you being a little bit of a braggart, for your information a clock
radio isnt considered an "active" speaker just because the amps in the same
case as the speaker, ass.
And as far as this "mine is bigger" bullshit thats YOUR deal, yOUR THE
NITWIT THAT SPENT SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS on a gimmick like "active"
speakers because one of your boyfriends told you about how great it was to
have the amps in the same cabinet as the speakers, the same design
philopshopy thats used by every woodgrain console stereo from western auto.
At least when I'm ready to upgrade my amps I wont have to get rid of my
speakers also, twit
> AND FINALLY, for the LAST damn time Denon is an English company, or at
least thats where it started.
Just look at the back of ANY Denon receiver and see the provisions for
bi-wiring, you clueless bastard, you dont even know that thats an ENGLISH
idiosyncrocy
But then again you were dumb enough to buy some speakers with built in amps,
just because someone gave them a fancy name.
Good luck selling that Meridian horse-shit when you finally get tired of the
limitations imposed by the design
And finally, sure there are good amps made worldwide, they just dont have it
on American devices, which benefit from ready access to resources and a long
history of high power circuit design
> Active speakers! GOD!!!
Every hundred dollar home theater in a box has "active" speakers,
technically speaking.
Oh, so now your gonna tell me about "feedback" and the little microphones
and shit your speakers have, making the whole mess more complicated than
having sex with three Chinese women at the same time, the nimrod who thought
up such a thing having never heard of the first law of engineering, KEEP IT
SIMPLE STUPID.
A phrase that REALLY applies to you, twit

Hmmm...why has the "industry" rejected active speakers? Maybe, just maybe,
it has to do with the fact that selling you an amp, speaker wires,
interconnects, and speakers and getting you to churn them around and replace
one and then the other is more important to them than absolute performance?
There is NO way a hodge podge assembly of passive components and off the
shelf amps can equal a properly designed active speaker, where you can do
far superior crossovers and correct for driver anomalies in electronics, and
you absolutely know what kind of load the amp will be driving. Yup, the
"industry" has your best interests at heart, that's why they sell overpriced
Monster Cable crap to weepy idiots like you.

You are an asswipe of absolutely monumental proportions aren't you? Denon
was founded in Japan, and is still JAPANESE. What kind of absolute moron do
you have to be to come to the conclusion that because some of their products
have provisions for biwiring that makes it certain they are English?
ROFLMAO! Gee, I guess Panasonic is American (or German), because they make
coffee pots, and we all know the Japanese drink tea not coffee. Snicker.

Don't have Meridian, though I find them to be an excellent brand. And, if
you actually watched the used market, you'd know they sell for plenty used.

No, it has amps in the unit, not in the speakers, (hmmm...just like your
receiver!) pull your head out of your ass for 5 minutes and you might learn
something.Gadzooks, you are such an amazing combination of technically
clueless and asshole personality.

Keep your perverted sexual fantasies out of it. I guess complex is too much
for your widdle mind to handle eh? I guess anything more complex than a
cheap receiver and some speakers is too much to expect out of you in your
pursuit of audio perfection. Say to Rosie and her daughters tonight.

What a moron. To follow your "logic" we'd all still be using wind up
gramophones, as all this added motors and amps and speakers and wiring stuff
is too complex. And just WTF would you know about engineering? You don't
even know jack shit about audio as a consumer hobby let alone anything about
engineering! ROFLMAO!

First Denon was English because you read it in a magazine "somewhere," and
now Denon is English because they support buy wiring. You are such an
asswipe, if you are too stupid and vain to look up online, when I and others
have posted links, and admit you're wrong about something like this, you are
never going to learn anything. And anyone looking at what we will charitably
call "advice" coming from you should know well to consign you to the bit
bucket where you belong.

Talk about belittling your betters, you insult Meridian, when your equipment
looks like a cheap Kmart table radio by comparison. One Meridian speaker
costs more than your entire setup, and their systems are hardly "limited."
Just becaue you can't cream yourself every month with the latest cable or
amplifier de jour, doesn't mean they are limited. They actually want you to
take your time and, gasp, listen to the music, not play with the system. But
then, the average Meridian owner is pretty self confident, they don't need
to compensate for lack of penis size with their stereos, and therefore
aren't susceptible to every advertisement telling them that the next "NEW"
thing will make them special. When something new is added that actually is
an improvement, like a new type of surround encoding, Meridian offers a
board upgrade to update their systems.

Go back to lovingly eyeing that picture of Prince Charles in the buff while
you convince yourself of the greatness of that British Denon.

Hey Steve-o, I can rearrange that statement to
fit YOU to a 'T':

KEEP IT STUPID, SIMPLE : )

You are the master!
