Its not a "supposed email from RLB to ASA", its just one of dozens of
similar posts RLB has made to ASA in the last few days. Its the dribble that
RLB treats ASA to on a daily basis.

I'm not here to provoke discord. I just wanted to let you all see what
it is we have to endure. This isn't a "slam" against Robert in that I
haven't appended or altered any text in the messages I've forwarded
(which all originated from him, by the way). This one (and 12 others
like it) were repeated at least three more times. I'm forwarding these
posts as both a courtesy and a public service so you don't have to visit
his website or endure the flames that are so often exchanged in
alt.security.alarms.

Thank you. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Olson actually bragged in ASA about posting it here.

Where do you get this stuff??

I don't (and have never) "bragged" about anything. I proposed that your
off-topic and unappreciated spam be forwarded to a forum that would have
a greater appreciation for the products you advertise. I'm willing to
take the heat for it and if people decide they want to "kill file" or
"plonk" me, that's their prerogative.

I stand corrected on the "supposed" part, still doesn't make it any
better to post it here. He stays in the kill file.

I don't mind weeding through noise to get to signal. I do mind messages
which lock up my news reader for extended periods of time.

Good idea: Plonk.

That is because your news reader is junk.

I won't, only because occasionally FO gives out wildly bad advice to newbies
and others that needs to be set straight. But other than that, he gets the
skip treatment because it's clear he relishes the attention, good or bad.
There's no hope for someone who doesn't know that "vengeance is mine, sayeth
the Lord" and wants to appoint himself the sole savior of the internet. My
psychologist friend says it succinctly: "Some people never mature into full
adulthood and get stuck at the junior high school level."

Actually, I'm finding the "blocked senders" feature to work quite well. But
thank you for your personal concern for my software selection. I do
appreciate it. :-P

For that you are much appreciated. We all make occasional mistakes. Every now
and then do and I'm happy to learn from others as well as share what I've
learned over the years. The problem with Olson is that he deliberately gives
bad advice. As one sage poster put it, he'd try to argue with me over whether
the sun is shining. :^)
