Right now I have the couch up against the rear wall, the Rear Speakers I
have on a small bookshelf use as an end table on one side and a small
desk on the other end of the couch.

This places them right about head level.

I directed the front of the speakers to reflect off the rear wall, but
I'm wondering if placing them facing slightly outward might be preferable.

That's not a good place to sit. Ideally you'll be 38 percent of the room
length from that wall. So if the room is 16 feet long your ears should be 6
feet from the wall behind you. Then, besides giving you a better low end
response, you'll also be able to put the rear speakers behind you where they
should be.

OK, Thx. I'll need to push the wall unit back some then, right now it
has walkway space behind it.
