View Full Version : About a Toshiba CZ32V61 TV and component inputs, and a quick one on Advent/3's (a bit long)

Hi all,
Around about last August, I posted a question here titled something like "Where
to begin" or something like that. It got some superb answers about where to go
to start gathering info to start my HT. Thanks again to all who helped, if
you're still free to move around

I'm happy to say, I just received my Denon AVR-2805 receiver and, hey Martha,
it's a good one.

So now I'm faced with rearranging the living room because it won't fit under the
TV in the IKEA TV stand and still have 4" clearance all around. Gonna build, or
buy a stand or shelves to put up the receiver, DVD player, VCR and DishNetwork
box.

More to the point, tho, is connecting the receiver to the TV using component
cables. As I said in the Subject, it's a Toshiba 32" CZ32V61 (an excellent TV
that I got as floor model from Sears three years ago). There are three component
inputs on the back but they're labelled "DVD in". Other than that there are only
S-Video and the three-way L-R-V inputs in the video input area.

So, can I go from the receiver's video out, to the TV's DVD in via component
wires? The TV will probably be 15 to 17 feet from the receiver.

Advent/3's:

Bought these at Sal's Army a couple years ago. I'd like to upgrade the tweeters
to brighten them up a bit but I've no idea the specs on the crossover. I've seen
a couple websites out there dealing with vintage stuff like this but I've yet to
see the original specs on it. I'm going to make some phone calls but since I'm
posting on the other subject, I thought I'd throw this in as well.

Thanks in advance!

Chuck

Yes, if your receiver has a component monitor connection.
