Hi Guys
Thought some might be interested in my latest project which is led garden lighting....I currently already have some installed using either green leds or blue leds...They look quite good but im hoping soon they going to look even better..
Have just received my RGBLED Boards back from the assy company here in Melbourne....These boards can take up to 13 RGB Leds .....
Im having pcbs made so i can put 3 RGB LEDS into a HPM garden light fitting which means i can connect up to 4 garden lights per RGBLED Board....
The board has a serial connection and i will be using xPL to control them...
Will take some pics once the garden light pcbs arrive...
Below is a link to the RGBLED Site hosted by Gerry Duprey the RGBLED Developer....

Hi Frank,
I don't know much about these RGB LEDS (read nothing) but they look to me like they are 3 coloured leds in the one package. right?
Does this mean you can only turn on one LED at a time in each package, or is the whole point that you can turn the 3 of them on together to create different colours? If so how do you vary the colours produced?
Cheers

Yep thats correct 3 leds in one chip.......

The leds are driven by pwm chips so you can vary the amount of time each colour is on therefore mix the colours....When sending a command to each led theres 3 values for each led ie ff,00,00....is red 00,ff,00....is green ...00,00,ff is blue...ff,ff,ff is white...etc....
The application to set up the boards also instead of entering numbers you can select a colour from a colour chart thingy , makes it quite easy ....

Your lights look great!!! I'm looking at putting a pool in during the winter and want to do a bit with lighting. What you have done has given me some great ideas.

Nice lights Frank.
While I was on your site, I had a sticky at your irrigation setup, again nice to see a well constructed unit. And I saw your idea about using an RF remote to control them whilst wandering around outside...... what a great idea, I'm going to steal that one for sure :D
Now if only I actually had a garden instead of a jungle.........

Yes i use the same remote to control either "Irrigation" or "RGLED Lighting"
depending on wether i press brighten or dim......
You got no excuse now for not installing Irrigation now that you have completed the Rain8 plugin for CQC ;-)...Im actually using the WGL w800 rf receiver....
Now if only I actually had a garden instead of a jungle.........
Im lucky that my wife loves gardening otherwise ours would be a jungle ;-)

Hi Rohan
Hey Frank, how are those fancy new lights of yours working out?
So far so good , i have 2 sets of 4 up and running .....The second set of 4 garden lights im using are cheap Arlec ones which look like the HPM ones only they are an all plastic device....I just removed the reflector and lamp holder and inserted the pcb and siliconed the cable wntry to keep insects out...
If interested in using RGBLED Garden lighting might be an idea to wait for Gerrys new 3 led board as well as his rgbled driver board...This will allow you to drive lots of RGBLEDS from one rgbled output......
Will install some more when i get back from working in Adelaide........

Hey guys
Not sure if this is the same as Frank's lighting but... I found these at the local Jaycar store the other day. Whilst the web site gives the impression they only work on the three primary colours, a closer look at the controller has three pot adjustments for the three primary colours which may well do the trick. There seems to be two 'packages'... One with four lights (and a crappy looking controller) and one with eight lights (and the controller mentioned with what looks like an adjustment for the colour).
The other thing, is one of the pictured lights isn't red, green or glue which leads me to think the colour can be changed
