I personally would love to see a weatherproof switch developed for the C-Bus system. Its the one product I could use on a regular basis.

Just in the standard bakerlite ranges like 2000 and Classic would be fantastic.

Many enviroments require external switches prone to weather.

Worth considering?

Its a valid request........

One thing to be more specific , what level of weatherproofing do you require?

As i have seen "Philips" label some light fittings as weatherproof IP44,
and the rating is useless, the sticker on the side of the fitting than says to install
it 1 mtr back under an eave, anything is weatherproof if installed that far
under an eave!!

I guess you want IP56 rated.

Are u happy using the industrial looking 56 series???
or are u after the standard looking switches in IP56, ie: clipsal 2031V66

or are u after both??

Happy to pursue it, but if we start pushing that wheel barrow,
these are the common questions i will be asked. ;)

Hi Coppo,

The style of the 2031V66 would be all we need. Nothing to industrial and would be a good stop gap for a weatherproof situation, so classic and 2000 would be a good starting point.

I think thay would sell.

cheers

One of the other big killers for this will be the UV degradation factor and what
material they use for it to withstand external UV conditions...

anyhoo , will put it forward , we'll see if the idea floats....

Now that would be a treat to install one of these in ensuites and high end bathrooms. it could control the audio system, the behind glass lcd and the lighting!
