Just a few questions about setting up a motherboard.

a)Are all ATX motherboards now standard fitting for all new cases?
b)Is it possible to purchase an atx motherboard without having the
input audio inputs/outputs?
c)And if so, then how can this motherboard without audio controls
still fit into the same case with audio controls
c)Will Pentium processors work on any motherboard or are
motherboards make specifically for a certain maker of a processor?
d)Is there be any conflicts between graphic cards and motherboards?

thanks for your time

ATX motherboards fit in ATX cases. There are other types of cases: mATX and
Extended ATX: http://www.pcguide.com/ref/case/formATX-c.html

Yes.

The case will have still have the holes or a template that gets removed. It
won't interfere with the board regardless.

You need to match the motherboard with the processor. Many motherboards
support many different processors, but you should always check for
compatibility.

Conflicts should not happen unless you have an onboard graphics device and
you add a card. Not all cards fit all boards. Check to see if the card you
want has a corresponding slot (like AGP) and that it will support the full
speed of the card (AGP-8X for example).

Yes... except "Dell"... They're a "breed of their own"...

Yes and no. Most of the popular motherboards will have onboard sound and
LAN. Some of the less popular ones I'd steer well clear of... :-))

They're all built to a "standard".

> c)Will Pentium processors work on any motherboard or are

No. Pentium processors will only work on boards that are designed for Intel
chipsets. AMD processors will only work on boards designed for the AMD
chipset.

> d)Is there be any conflicts between graphic cards and motherboards?

Nope. If you disable on-board graphics in the *BIOS* setup and set up the
board for the type of graphics card you have you shouldn't have any
problems.
