Hi,

I'd like to know which one i must buy... the Powerlinc II Serial
interface (1132B) or Powerlinc USB interface (1132U)?

I'm a programmer, and the serial interface look very interesting to
program, unfortunatly the USB version don't have any SDK available...

Anyone have the Serial interface? is it reliable???

Are you able to dim/bright in small step???

Thank you...

I own one 1132 B and is very satisfied.

1132B support extended X10 codes which means that PCS (32 steps) or Leviton
(64) preset dimming command could be transmited and received.

At my point of view, reliability is not related to the kind of interface
(RS232 or USB).

I believe (should be confirmed) that USB provide the off-line macro
execution (like CM11 or CM15).

Hope it helps

The 1132U doesn't support off-line macros. The 1132CU (Powerlinc
"Controller") does.

The interface for the serial Powerlinc (1132) has a published interface
plus it talks the TW523 protocol.

Dealers/developers can get the interface spec for the 1132U fairly
easily. Getting the specs for the 1132CU seems to be more difficult.

I believe HomeSeer supports the 1132CU (I know it supports the 1132U)
and Smarthome has their own software for it. I don't know if anyone
else supports it.

If you're going to write your own software, you're probably best off
with the Serial 1132.

I've used both the 1132 and the 1132U (USB). Both seem pretty good.
Software support seems to be the primary reliability factor with them.
