Dude: I am using Winamp via a wireless network in the house to feed music
all over the place. I have Winamp installed on all the computers, but I
mainly use it in my TV room, which also feeds to a second stereo receiver in
the kitchen. That computer is hooked to a Gyration wireless keyboard and
mouse, and the keyboard works great up to about 50 feet line of sight, and
as far as maybe 35 feet through a couple of walls even.
The Gyration keyboard HAS volume and play/pause controls on it, plus, you
can customize the "hotkeys" in Winamp so that any key can control any
function. When I am listening to (some small portion of) my 400 gigabyte
collection of mp3s through this system, I just take the keyboard into
whatever room in am in, and I can control everything from there. Works like
a charm.
