What's the best way to connect 2 yamaha receivers together. Basically, I
want a second sub powered by a separate receiver.
2 subs and 2 recievers all playing the same source. Hope this makes sesnse.

I thought of splitting the cd audio left and right into 4 rca's and running
2 to each receiver. That way I can hookup the second sub to the second
receiver. Basically, I do not want to split my "sub Out" with a way adapter.

Thanks for any info,
Gordon

If the first receiver has a preamp output, use that to connect it to the
second receiver.

Are the subwoofers powered? If they are, there is no reason to not split
the sub out.

Thanks Karl,

Both subs are powered. Won't I lose some quality by splitting the sub-out?
Also, The first receiver (yamaha HTR-5760) has a pre-out, and the second
receiver (yamaha RX-V496) has an external decoder input. Is that where I
connect to from the Pre-out on the 1st receiver? Do I have to hook up any
other speaker wires?
Thanks For your help
Gordon

I've got my lfe signal split to two subs... sounds great.

No.

Should work. All you need is a bunch of RCA interconnects.

Nope.

I run 2 subs by splitting the sub-out without any issues (each of my fronts
has a 12" 300 watt powered sub). Y cables can be found almost anywhere.

No, you won't. In fact, splitting the feed is better than what you're
planning, because the second sub's own amplifier is likely to be better
optimized for driving that particular load than the sort of low-current
generic amplifiers usually found in receivers.

Thanks Guys, I'll try the split on the Sub Out along with the pre-out
connecting the 2 together.

All the best

Yes, definitely no need to add another amp into the equation with powered
subs. Just split the LFE output. The quality will be unimpaired, but
you'll need to bump each sub's output slightly to compensate for the reduced
current to each sub's amp.
