Why don't you just use Homeseer software with a Global Cache relay. The
computer can be in your home/barn and the Global Cache can be near the other
mechanical hardware connected to it's relay(s). The Global Cache unit
communicates with Homeseer over IP (CAT5 ethernet or even wirelessly).

Seems like this would be a simple setup as long as you can trigger your
feeding hardware with a simple relay.
