View Full Version : Wind Sensor into CBUS
Has anybody connected a Wind Sensor into a CBUS (or minder) network. If so could you share the product and general approach?
Application is to close a awning.

Hi Tony,
Some time ago we plumbed an anemometer into minder using 0~10V input from the unit to measure the wind speed for controlling pumps on a pool. The pool was on the beach and subject to coastal winds that sometimes can be a bit nasty. Because the pool had a wet edge, excessive wind used to empty 6" of water from the pool into the holding tank, which would then just run out the overflow, starting the pumps when the wind got up fixed the issue. We purchased the unit from a Sydney supplier, quite expensive, but very robust. Just google them up.
Without going into a lot of detail it worked well, and still does.

Somfy (Blind/curtain control gear manufacturer) have a range of units that do this. There is an RF unit and I would assume there is a unit with a dry contact too.
Check out http://www.somfy.com/au/index.cfm?page=/au/home/products/remotes_controls/sensor_timers&language=en-au
Cheers
Chris
