View Full Version : Automation potential of GE Concord alarm?

I'm having a house built, and the builder installs a hardwired "GE
Concord" security system. I was trying to look up the potential to tap
into some of the security events, such as motion detection and door
openings, to trigger automation events. I noticed an x-10 card, and
better yet, an RS232 card. Does anyone know if the RS232 interface is
documented? And, if there are any controllers (esp. software-based
ones) that support it?

Thanks.

Just a followup: it seems that the big expensive automation systems
(crestron, elan, etc) support the GE/ITI concord rs232 interface. I
haven't found much in the low-cost arena. I did find a protocol
document, though.
