Has anyone had any success interfacing a thrid party touchscreen effectively with Thinkboxx ?? There was a suggestion that an interface was being developed, but it appears the Smart Co. have lost the plot on this part of the product development.

Hi Drew

We played about with this four years ago (when I was working at Smartworld) so I wouldn't hold my breath. There are probably ways of doing it with the current comms ports. Do you have a unit you want to connect to or is your question directed at future installations? If existing, the best way would be to have a touchscreen with embedded PC and run the ThinkBoxx software using their GUI as the front-end. Not the most elegant, but you are dealing with a 7 year old piece of hardware :)

Thanks again, yes I am aready using a progear touchscreen running as a thin client for a session on the server that is connected to Thinkboxx - it works but not elegant as point out. I had hoped someone might have done some work with a Coraccess ts or similar. It really is sad about Thinkboxx being so slow in development.

I run CQC on a touch screen in my kitchen.

CQC has a C-Bus interface that lets me control C-Bus stuff directly or minder via phantom group addresses.

And it has a really cool interface system that lets you design pretty much any look and feel you like.
