i got a broadband 128kbps.. but it never goes beyond 2kb speed.. i
even formatted my c drive.. sumone pls tell me wats wrong with my comp

Probably nothing. It may be a problem with your wiring. I'd suggest
calling your cable provider. If you have it installed after an amplifier
(or you're using a cheap-o splitter) you could wind up with communication
problems.

A question no one has asked... Are you seeing the 2kbs in the dialog when
you download from a single site? If so, it could be the site which is slow!

I've had cable/DSL for years and when hitting some sites, I'll see TERRIBLE
speeds. You'll only see the speed at your end that the other end can
provide!

Too many folks think that broadband means they can access EVERYTHING fast
but on busy sites or sites connected with a lower speed connections, the
speeds can be far less than you'd expect!

www.toast.net has some nifty speed testers. Your ISP may also have one
that measures the speed on the local hop.
