Here's a few details of my set-up - see also attached images

The Room has been built to Boral Plasterboard Cinemazone's specifications, to the mid room size for optimum acoustics, with a separate attached equipment cupboard. It has double wall construction & the ceiling is on resiliant mounts, all sheeted in Soundcheck, with 100 poly insulation. The back section has a raised floor, so the back row looks over the front row

The 6 seats all recline

The equipment cupboard has an open rack (see attached image) which allows me to easily remove and replace gear without disrupting the rest. The the right of this image you can see the Clipsal Starserve Pro cabinet, which contains all my phone, data and video distribution, including a clipsal quad channel modulator that I use to distribute my media PC, DVD, front door & pool camera and Foxtel around the other TV's in the house

The equipment I'm running is:
- Yamaha RX-V1500 A/V receiver (see separate discussion thread)
- Custom built Windows Media PC, which has my entire music collection and digicam photos, plus TV tuner card, allowing me to use it as a Personal Video Recorder (PVR) - still waiting on the electronic program guide though
- Pioneer DV-535 DVD player (modified to run region free and macrovision disabled)
- Akai VS-G745EA-D VCR (used to play last of my collection not on DVD)

- Foxtel digital set top box, using S-video & digital optical audio connection
- Playmaster 300W subwoofwer amp (built from kit from Dick Smith)
- Warfedale front speakers, centre speaker sourced from Jaycar electronics
- custom built Bandpass subwoofer enclosure to Electronics Aust design (Jan 93) with Jaycar Response 12" carbon fibre cone driver rated at 200W
- front, centre & sub are enclosed in custom enclosure below screen
- flush 2 way 6.5" rectangular surround speakers ( 7.1 set-up)
- Sanyo Z2 ceiling mounted projector, with component video connection for A/V gear, and VGA connection for media PC
- custom built projector screen with black felt to frame (So you don't see any over projection)

The room has been themed in classic 20's art deco, with dark colours to walls and ceiling.

The curtains to each side of the screen hide the double glazed double hung windows the local council insisted on (habitable room), with a 80mm air space to restict low frequency breakout

The room has a separate zone on the house's fully ducted A/C with it's own return air, as the room is airtight, with Raven seals to the solid core doors. I use a Smartzone control system for the A/C which has separate thermostats for each zone which regulates the air volume to each zone to maintain temperatures to each zone

You will notice in the rear photo a row of framed photos on the walls - these are original autographed photos of movie stars my wife has collected via E-Bay. She's done a lot of research, and got them all for VERY good prices, and only the most valued images, like Brad Pitt's full autograph (only signs BP now)
