Hi All
Have been working on a little project here at home on controlling my cbus lights using a standard remote ..To achieve this im using a pc ,software and hardware...
Software.....CGATE...xPL....xPL PLugins...
Hardware.....USB UIRT....FirM Serial interface....FirM......

Im using a cheap 6 button remote and can brighten/dim /turn on / turn off..lights in any room which has cbus lights.....It works quite well and it uses the zone receive identication from my FirM Controller to determine which lights to control........

I like the idea of IR zones.
Does the C-Bus system support zones or is this why you followed this particular route?
(More flexibility than with just the Clipsal remotes?)

Hi Colin

Not sure if it supports Receive zones but of course using the 2 channel nirt you can have tx zones although would be very expensive to get 8 tx zones this way..........

(More flexibility than with just the Clipsal remotes?)

Its not so much as the remote as the one im using has only 6 buttons i just think to have a multizone ir tx / rx would be too expensive to do in cbus kit and would not be flexible either.....

Also .. i do have one 2 channel nirt connected to my ir system.....Using a Ctouch screen i can control any piece of kit in any of my 8 zones.....

What i have done is connected channel 1 of the nirt ir out to a stick on emitter located adjacent my ha controller (homevision) and the other channel connects to my Multizone unit via an optoisolation board.....
Scenes are created in the Ctouch to send 2 ir signals one to each zone ...
Zone 1 which goes to Homevision represents the zone that the Ctouch wished to tx to and zone 2 is the actual ir command ie vol up /vol down etc..
Works quite well...........
