We are getting continued communications from security system manufacturers re direct (protocol level) connection to C-Bus.

Are there particular systems you would like to see this happen with and any requests / ideas as to how systems could interact. Consider functions and processes in each system and the programming to have these interact ...

Phil,
Are we taking the same sort of functions as per the concept system or are we talking about developing functions from the ground up? Are we talking about development of the current 5400 /NessD8 or other manufactures systems. A wish list should not be that hard to come up with either way.

When thinking of interfacing security to a system like C-Bus you need to consider features and functions in both systems then functions with the systems working together. eg. if you have a C-Touch, an event in the security system can result in a command on C-Bus which can trigger a scene or other function in the C-Touch.

From this we must consider the features, functions and processes in the security system - (system and device status) and how these could trigger or control advanced functions in C-Bus. Once you have thought about this side then think about the inverse where status, conditions, and network commands from a scene, schedule or user input could control the security system.

The key is flexible two way triggering of system commands where the only limitation is the confines of the particular installation on hand...

.... where the only limitation is the confines of the particular installation on hand...And the person installing it. :D

One thing we constantly think and talk about is making it easy to understand and use. There is a fine balance between providing maximum capability and keeping it simple. I have to say though, we do err on the side of keeping it simple...
