When I hook up either my VCR RF out, or my Foxtel RF out terminals to the Modulator In terminal to my 8053/8VHPIR Unit, I only get a very weak grainy signal, yet when I hook either up to the test TV directly, the signal is fine - it's like the signal's not getting thru the Video hub

Any ideas?? :(

Howdi,

1. Do you also has a modulator like a 8074VMPIR?
sometime the problem can be who has the power input.
2. IS the LED on the 8053/8VHPIR lit up?

Cheers

No, I currently don't have a 8074VMPIR, but I currently have one on back order, as I want to connect up 2 CCTV cameras and the DVD player, but it won't solve the Foxtel box, as I can only use it's RF out socket, as I'm using it's video output in S Video mode direct to a ceiling projector

Yes the LED on the 8053/8VHPIR is lit up

Attached is is A/v concept I'm trying to achieve, although the media server does not exist yet

I'm currently feeding the Foxtel RF out into the VCR Antenna in, then the VCR RF out into a Clipsal 2031RFT RF/IR controller (which has it's power pack connected, powering the 8053/8VHPIR), which is connected to the Modulator B input on the 8053/8VHPIR

I inserted a 6 dB Attenuator between the antenna input and the 8053 and the problem went away - I'm only 5kms in a direct line of sight to the local TV transmission towers, and it turned out the signal was way too strong :)
