Hi all
Over many years I have accumulated a lot of movie posters and am wondering
where I should go to sell them - I have some pretty impressive ones, mainly
for their graphic design content. One I do have that is brilliant, is the
poster for the 80's release of the film Metropolis....the thing just looks
great, but I have around 40 others that all have a certain something that
made me buy them. AS I said, I am wanting to move them on and am wondering
where would be the best place to do so - I have looked at eBay but posters
there mainly seem to be either recent or for video release - these are
primarily original theatrical release One-Sheets.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Steve

Look around at your local picture framers and related shops. There are
ones around that only do movie, advertising type posters. Depending on
what you have they may be willing to buy some, but it all depends on
what it is and the condition.

You could even post a list here, might get a few takers. Maybe ebay in
america? be more collectors over there.

Phone the State Libraty of Victoria, & ask for the Aquisitions Dept'.
They have a collection they may want to add to, if not I'm sure they'll
know where to point you.
Another suggestion is to write or email the presenters of the movie
review shows on channels
2 & SBS.
Good luck.

Hello Steve -
Selling through ebay would probably bring you the greatest return, but
you would need to have a good scan of each poster and I would
recommend that you use Paypal as a payment vehicle. If you want to
sell them outright, one option is moviegoods.com, however they are
located in the U.S. and as such you would have to pay for shipping to
them. Check their website for details. As with any selling to
re-salers, you will probably not get as much as you would like, but it
is an option. I would be interested in any posters you might have of
New Zealand feature films, but only that genre.
Good luck
