Does anyone have any experience with the Concept 4000 and its integration into a c-bus enable house.

They are claiming they are compatible and innerrange make good gear. I am proposing that we install the 4000 with the aim of letting it have security control of the lighting (eg a fire will light up a passageway to the front door etc.)

I have not used one before nor can I fond anyone local that has used then together.

The concept 4K is a very capable panel for sure. The problem as i understand it, is getting the most out of it requires someone who knows what they are doing.
I have interfaced a few times to it and it has delivered the goods. I'd recommend finding and installer capable of the install or choose another product. The concept 4k is a career decision and therefore deserves someone who can get the most out of it.

I'm sure you have done some homework and worked out your needs. If the 4K can't do it I'll be damned. I also am looking to use clipsal and IR products. My brother installs IR gear and if you are in melbourne send me a private message and I can arrange a quote for you..

I personally don't have experience with the Concept system, but before u tune out....
i have had alot of experience with C-Bus and have had people ringing me about concept / C-Bus.

Things to note:
1st thing
Concept panels lock the CBus PCI into 1200BPS. This is discussed on the cbus forum...

So , you either need to have a dedicated PCI for concept or alternatively you
download the C-Bus diagnostics utility software from
http://www.clipsal.com/cis/downloads.php3

with this you should be able to restore your PCI back to 9600BPS.

2nd thing:
I have seen on C-Bus sites and have been advised by a concept programmer
that unreliable operation can happen between the two when using "virtual
group addresses. ie: GA exists in CONCEPT but not on a CBus output unit.

One way to ensure it worked was to "park" the virtual GA on an output unit,
(in the LOGIC section, but without applying any logic ticks). Because the
output units store the status of the GA's on them, it then correctly
holds and updates the current GA status.

The 2nd thing.
This is a valuable lesson to be learned. It can and does apply to a few other nameless components that come to mind. :D
