At present I have my cable SD box connected to my HD plasma with a scart to
s video cable.
Will I get better results from a scart to component cable?
Whilst the pictures from my free to air HD receiver, which is connected to
the TV with component cable, are great ,the pictures from the SD cable box
are pretty average.
I dont want to rush out and buy another cable and be disappointed.

It will help slightly, but the bad picture is probably due to the low
resolution of SD TV rather than the cable.

It could be a number of the following:
- cable quality
- low res looks bad on Plasma (what the other person said)
- you have not configured the SCART plug to accept Y/C
This last one might be it as on my Grundig CRT I must tell the TV whether I
what to use Y/C or CVBS over the SCART plug. If mismatch plug and the input
signal then the image is *terrible*
