Big question there. Sort of a large topic of discussion to throw at us. Perhaps you should narrow the question a tad. Maybe select an automation manufacturer in principal to partner up with and give that a shot.

Perhaps fire a shot at the users of that manufactures products and see what gives. Since the market is now so vast in choice it will not be an easy question to answer or program without narrowing the field.
